Director, Genre and Television Analyses

This page will be a hub for pieces written about a specific director's work or a genre. These pieces will attempt to synthesize a director's career by analyzing recurring thematic and visual motifs, overarching narratives that span multiple entries in a director's catalogue, among other things that I feel are necessary to understanding a filmmaker's voice. Similarly, I will be doing the same to various genres of film and looking at them through the same lenses. Lastly, television show analyses will be found here as well, as these pieces take much more time to write than anything else and require the most thought, so for now, they will all be in one place.
